Shades of Gray

For those of you who know me well, I am almost always wearing one of the following colors: black, gray, and or white. I’ve also been pretty obsessed with the color gray for the last year or so as well. Our bedding in gray and white, we bought a gray couch and a matching gray rug.

In any case, GRAY in particular has been on my mind the past few weeks. As you may have already guessed, my book club read Fifty Shades of Gray this past month. However, since “what happens at book club, stays at book club”, I won’t go into too many details; but I will share that I enjoyed our discussion very much and wine was definitely involved.

So along the lines of shades of gray, I wanted to introduce you to Heidi. Although she has no where near the fifty shades of Christian Gray, she does have three - ebony, charcoal gray and taupe. Made of faux leather (a personal favorite of Ana and Christian) and constructed with classic pleating which adds depth to any character, Heidi offers an overall sophisticated look. Coordinated piping detail (which could be thought of as very thin rope) brings the entire look all together. For the a more adventurous look, add some black chain handles (no additional comment needed) or opt to keep it casual with the black adjustable long strap.

One other feature I wanted to point out about Heidi, Anastasia and almost all Miche purses is that are all great at keeping secrets. If you didn’t know already, you can HIDE items between the shell and the base of your purse for an added level of deceptive protection. You can fit almost anything from A – Z (examples: include flasks, passport, zip ties) in that “pocket”. My personal favorite is stashing food and/or beverages when attending local sporting events (or anywhere security sight checks your purse).

As “I only aim to please”, be sure to check out Heidi and some of her gray shaded friends (Prima - Donna, Kendal, Iris,  Neisha, Demi - Gentry, Kinsley, Classic - Cinthia Petite - Cindy and Camila ) more in depth by visiting my website or contacting me to host your own “Shades of Gray” purse party.

Morgan is her name.

Hello Fellow Purse Lovers!

This is the beginning of my Purse-sonality…

In January of 2012, my friend and neighbor, Angela (this IS all your fault you know…J) invited me to attend her friends purse party. Right away I was excited. A party, all about purses!?! Count me in! I already had a bit of a purse obsession (at least 8 in my closet to begin with), so my goal was to see if there was a basic black purse that I liked. (I’m one of those people that gets a mental picture of what they want their purse to look like, and then go on this endless search to every department store and still not find what I’m looking for). At this particular time, I was trying to find a basic black purse, something not too flashy and that would stay in style for awhile.

So while I’m browsing (more like riffling) through a multitude of purses, I found her! (Yup, she’s a girl, but I will get to that in a minute). I found a nice, big black purse without a bunch of “stuff” on it. Immediately, I wanted to try her on. (Yes, I said try on). No one else at the party seemed to “get it”. I needed to have the bag over my shoulder and LOOK at myself in the mirror with the bag ON. Once you can see yourself with the bag, you can answer all of the necessary questions. Is it too big or too small, how does it hang, does it stay on my shoulder, is it heavy/comfortable, can I easily grab my stuff out of it, etc.. But most importantly, is it ME? Is the purse my style and does it show off my Purse-sonality!?

Therefore, my next step was to find said mirror, which I located down the hall in a pretty big guest bathroom. Although the mirror was very wide and the room was well lit, it wasn’t full length mirror. (I’m 5’10”, so I often try to get purses that are proportional to my height). Anyways, I tried it on and LOVED IT. At that point, I was all set. Then I started to pay a little more attention. This was a Miche party, which I then learned the following:

  1. Miche purses are unique, because they are versatile. You buy one (in the size of you choice) and then you can select shells for your bag. Each shell allows you to change the look and feel of your bag (colors, textures, patterns, etc.).
  2. Each purse shell is an individual, and she is given name so you can easily find and remember her (as well as talk about her behind her back… like how awesome she is!).

Side Note: I would like to introduce you to the black bag I found, her name is Morgan.
  3. When you “switch” purses, you don’t have to swap out all of the “stuff” in your bag. Which is amazing, because if you are anyone like me – you inevitably end up leaving important things at home, like my license and or debit card every time you change purses.
So after I realized I could get 2-3 different purses for the price of one AND not forget anything as I changes bags daily to match my outfits, I was even more sold. (I do think you can become even more confident of a purchase decision after you already made it. I can’t seem to find the right word for that, but it would be the complete opposite of buyer’s remorse). I then started checking out all of Morgan’s friends, and ended up with a whole gang hanging out with me on the couch. In the end, I couldn’t take them all home with me (at least not after just one night). So I decided to go with my first love - Morgan and two of her friends, Leah and Heidi.

Over the past few months, I’ve been invited and have attended a few more purse parties, and as time has passed, my little purse family has continued to grow. So much so in fact, that I am now a Miche Representative!
So beginning today, I will share with the world, my LOVE for the “Purse-sonalities” that Miche purses offer, and help other lost purse-soles out there, find their perfect mates.J

PS – This is my very first blog, ever. So please bear with my as I figure out my blog design, how to take good pictures and not to mention the fact that I speak half the time in parentheses (I guess I think I’m sarcastic) and that I say “so”, way too much.
